In the heart of the communication is something very important: social media planning. The lineup is given on Twitter almost four month before the event actually takes place. Twitter is a key because it is a platform where different voices can be heard. From the official Coachella's account to the young girl who's so excited to see her favourite artists next spring in the desert.
Twitter make the things different because when you spread a news such as Coachella lineup it is not just like in a magazine: it suddenly becomes everyone's property. Anyone can decide to react.

4.1 million tweets were written during the 2015's festival édition, that could indicate the future of popular music. According to Twitter data from the event, which only included tweets that mention both the artist and Coachella, a few artists won the festival’s two weekends with buzzy moments and performances.
According to Twitter, Drake was the most-mentioned artist, buoyed largely by the Madonna on-stage kiss during his performance on the first weekend (which was also the most-tweeted-about moment from the festival). Rapper Tyler the Creator, who lambasted the VIP section and the increased consumerism of the event, received the second-highest number of tweets. Interestingly, Kanye West – who wasn’t on the bill – snuck into the top five Twitter mentions after his surprise show with the Wind.
The artists that experienced the most follower growth over the weekend were from hip-hop and R&B, with Action Bronson, FKA Twigs, Vic Mensa, and Run the Jewels nabbing numerous new followers. Check out the full stats on who ruled the Coachella Twittersphere ( on the left).
